Titleist Golf bags
Titleist Players 4 Stand Bag
Starting out with a lightweight (3.8lbs) and durable Titleist carry bag that many have owned for years. The Players 4 stand bag comes with two fold-out aluminum legs that allow you to place it nicely for accessing the clubs.
The organization of the clubs is not – one slot for every club, but rather six sections for breaking your golf clubs into four logical groups. As you know, there are some better ways to load a golf bag.
There are a few pockets on the front, each with six easy-to-use magnetic closures. One is an insulated water bottle holder, another works well for your balls. There are a bunch more too!
Although there are self balancing straps on this bag, most people prefer to use just one for carrying as the system is not super-intuitive for some.
And finally, a few people have complained that lately the quality of this model has gone downhill. Maybe Titleist made the mistake of trying to save on materials?
Pros
- Lightweight & durable
- Smart club division
- Easy and fast to stand
- Specific insulated water bottle pocket
Cons
- Some quality issues
- Back straps are not the best
Titleist Hybrid 14 Golf Bag
In some ways, this Titleist carry bag is similar to the Player 4 above, but also a lot better.
It is a hybrid carry and cart bag, so you can use the double straps to carry it or integrate it with your trolley or cart.
The slots are also far more numerous – 14 I counted! Some people grumble that they are not the standard golf club slot layout, but you certainly have plenty of options.
And speaking of options, there are also lots of pockets – some of the ladies even say it’s like a golf handbag for the course!
Of course, it’s a stand bag as well, as long as it’s packed evenly – otherwise some reviewers have found that it tends to tip over.
Pros
- Hybrid carry / stand / cart bag
- Lots of slots for your clubs
- Lots of pockets for your accessories
Cons
- Titleist quality is sometimes lacking
Titleist Midsize Golf Bag
A simple golf carry bag from Titleist, this model has six handy slots for your clubs and a lot of pockets for your golf course accessories!
It stands up straight unlike the models above with their 45-degree legs. This may suit some as the bag is a lot simpler to use.
It also has a degree of customization with a removable belly panel, just in case you want to slim down and carry less on the golf course.
There is also only one strap, so it will be less comfortable for some as there is more load on one shoulder.
Pros
- Simpler one-strap design
- 6 slots for clubs
- Removable belly section
Cons
- Not as comfortable to carry
What to look for in a Titleist golf bag
When buying a new golf bag you need to consider a few things.
One of the first things to consider when buying a Golf Carry bag is weight. It’s the number one detail that everyone should think about. The average carry bag weighs approx 2.5 Kilos not to mention all the clubs, water, food, and balls.
The second thing to consider is the Golf bag waterproof? There’s nothing worse than a bag getting wet inside and taking forever to dry out at home. I don’t think you should have to pay for a bag and then pay again for a waterproof outer cover. Modern materials make these bags lightweight and waterproof. I’ve spent many a day after a wet round trying to dry my old bag out in the garage with a hairdryer. !!!
Thirdly you have to think about the dividers for your clubs and pockets, do you like every club to have its own slot or are you happy to mix them up making club selection a little bit more difficult and they bang around when walking. Also, pockets for Balls, Tees, and water is vital.
Finally, quality and appearance, 60% of golfers choose their golf bags from Brand loyalty and color and looks. This isn’t a bad thing but just remember it needs to tick all the boxes for your needs before style in our opinion.
